I re-read it two months ago and noticed a lot of details that I missed the first time around. Although the movie couldn't possibly contain all of the nuance of the novel, it was an admirable attempt and the alterations that were present weren't egregious. But as far as movies go, it is a very nice treat. Plot-wise the graphic novel is by far better but action-wise it was really cool seeing the characters come alive in the movie. Rorshach was awesome. Welcome! That said, I watched the movie yesterday ("quis custodiet ipsos custodies? ego!") and I enjoyed it a great deal. It is much more "action movie inspired by Watchmen" than "adaptation," but that doesn't detract from the cool. Just don't expect it to be something it can't, and it's a good movie. I have been a fan of the comic since ’86. Welcome!
