Ring the bell
October 30th, 2008 by AriI know most other people who read this couldn’t care less about the Phillies, so I’ll try not to belabor anything here, but I just think they ought to ring the liberty bell in honor of the victory. What’s the worst that can happen – it’s already cracked.

Because you were liberated from your team choking in the playoffs? Because the Phillies were liberated from having only one WS win in a century? (Unfortunately, the Cubbies can’t say the same thing) When there is something important, then we can talk about ringing the Liberty Bell (read as coming from the fan of a division rival who finds Phillies fans, not all but many, to be loud, drunk and obnoxous).

I may be loud and obnoxious, but I don’t usually have to drink to get that way.
