leaving on a jet plane

March 29th, 2007 by admin

Friday: train to NY
Saturday night: Plane to Amsterdam
Sunday night: plane to Tel Aviv
Mon morning: Taxi to Jerusalem
Mon daytime: Aliyah l’regel (If only I could find a goat….)

Psyched.

(If anyone has any cool ideas on things to do either on or post pesach, feel free to make suggestions).

Depending on where you’ll be in Jerusalem, go to the blue-card minyan the first morning of Pesach – it’s not like you’d have much of a chance to sleep anyway… And on the Second Day (on which I hope you can find a Yom Tov minyan), wish everyone you see a Gut Yontif, even though it will be Chol HaMoed for them… (Showing matzah to natives on the eighth day could also be interesting…)

I meant to write, the blue-card minyan at the Kotel.

Sooooo cool. FYI, A&E J will be there as well (not sure if you knew that).

Will you follow the more common practice of doing 2nd day yom tov (and 8th day Pesah), or RBF’s position that the days on which holidays are observed is determined by one’s location, not one’s nationality (or residence)?

A&E somehow found out about us before we found out about them and already sent us their phone number. We will be with my parents, whose rabbi says to do 2 days even though they spend about half the year in Israel, so we’ll be doing that too. (William: I may try your suggestions. it sounds fun).
