If Jay leno were Jewish
October 11th, 2005 by admin| As many of you probably know, tomorrow night is the start of Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement. Many Jewish houses of prayer run ads in local newspapers adveritsing their services in order to attract (and they hope keep) previously unafiliated Jews. In this morning’s express, the free paper they give out on the DC metro, there was an ad for services at the chabad of Alexandria. As you can see from the picture on the right, they clearly advertised their “buffet kiddush”. I must admit I was surprised. A reform temple maybe, but at Chabad? | ![]() click for full image |

I’m sure that they reran the ad from Rosh Hashana (or Shabbat, for that matter) and forgot to delete that line… Bais Abe now has a Yahoo! calendar, and the calendar listed Brunch after Shacharit on both 17 Tammuz and 9 Av. When I sent Hyim an e-mail about it, his response was, “A very light brunch, indeed…” ;)
